Run Breeze Kit - Review

Image
The nice chaps at RunBreeze have sent me some kit to test out and I couldn't wait to get it on and give it a go. The items I was received were: Runderwear - Mens Support Briefs Anti Blister Socks I've always been skeptical about running in pants/briefs as comfort is really important to me when out on long runs (It should be to every runner) and the less chance of irritation the better. There is nothing worse than hitting mile 10 and finding out your got sore areas in your crutch and the worse news is you've got another 10 miles to get home. There is nothing worse than finding your favorite/lucky/fastest pair of running shorts with NETTING inside... thats never going to be comfortable on those long runs. As soon as you take the underwear out of the box they look great, the design is really unique and the guys have really taken running briefs to the next level. The first feel of the runderwear in your hands you know a lot of though has gone into the design an...

22/10/12 - Rest Day 23/10/12 - Rest Day 24/10/12 - Rest Day 25/10/12 - Rest Day 26/10/12 - Free Run I'm a day behind on the recovery run, after the weekend half marathon. I had sore hip flexes which I think are down to my lacking core stability, so the aim of this session was just to get out, do a quick run and get home. It was chilly too, so winter running is definitely here! This is the 2nd time I've been out in the dark in Lamphey and I happy to say it wasnt as scary as the first time and my mind didnt play to many tricks on me. A few russels on leaves did make me up my pace but apart from that all good. I'm sure there may have been a few heart rate spikes as I jumped a few times but I couldn't find my HR monitor so I can just I was man enough not to be scared! This above photo looks like I was out in extreme cold condition.. well I was.. at least 8'c or am I robbing a bank... I'm not quite sure. Session Details Duration 00 33.53 Dista...

Bridge of Pain

Image
After yesterday core workout my gluts were hurting just walking to work so I was hoping for a simple run tonight at training. But NO! We ended up doing 1km efforts with a bridge recoveries, the bridge was about 50 steps over the road on the high rise bridge. Each side of the bridge it was about 0.5 km so it was a killer session and thankfully it was on 5 sets. My Garmin battery was flat so I had to plot the run when I got home, the map is below, and as the last Monday night run we finished with a 2 mile run. No sloping off this week for some of the group we went in mass and I led us home. I think I should have worked hard on the 5 sets if I could lead the group. The hat and gloves are out on each run now as the temperature is completely changed and dropped about 4'c degrees. Todays session Duration 00 50 00 Distance 4.64 miles Calories 582
