Week 20 - I Need Some Motivation

14/05/12 - Rest Day 15/05/12 - Rest Day 16/05/12 - Brick Session (National Pool of Wales & Swansea Sea Front) After have 2 days off this week already, I had no drive to get out for this session, but when I did finally get the Speedo Jammers on I was really keen to get into it. I decided to hit the 50 meter pool and complete a 4 x 500m set (2000 meters) and get a 60 minute run under my belt. The weather was lovely and I was keen to make the most of it. I was lucky enough to have a lane to myself and so it was a interrupted set and and a quick change into some running gear I was out the door and on the sea front listening to my ipod picturing myself running the last 7 miles of the Ironman race. I felt good, really good and could have quite happily kept on going on the run! Week 14 - Its A Hard Week

02/04/12 - Rest Day 03/04/12 - Brick Session (Swansea Pool of Wales & Swansea Sea Front) This is the first brick session that I've done that is from the pool to the road, and it went pretty well, there was some stiffness in he arms when I first started but that soon went, and as I was still wet from the pool I didn't have a chance to get on my tights so it was a cold one for me.It was great to swim in a different pool, it felt like a completely different swim, and I had to fork out for new goggles as I left my predators at home. The session was an endurance effort swim, a full 2000 meters in one hit and then straight out for the run (I did have to change first though). I managed to complete 8 minute mile pace run, and maxed my heart rate out at 176 BPM, it was a flat run, but a cold one, so I pushed hard to get out and back as it was sushi for tea. I can see from the training plan there are more of these to come so I'm keen to get another one under my belt. Ses...

Week 13 - More, More, More 70.3 Training

26/03/12 - Swim Session (Penlan Pool) Week 2 of the training plan is here and it started with a pool swim, and extra 400 meters than last Mondays session. I decided to do a 100 meter climbing session, and totalled at 2000 meters. I was lucky enough to have a pool to myself again and I only swam one 400 with fins on today so, my arms and legs are starting to gain base layer strength. I've been doing these sessions first thing in the morning, so it would be good to compare how I feel when I do these sessions in the afternoon after work. 100, 200, 300, 400, 400, 300, 200, 100 meters = 2000 meters  Session Details Duration 01 00 00 Distance 2000 Meters 27/03/12 - Rest Day 28/03/12 - Brick Session (Turbo & Treadmill) Nice to get a brick session in, it been a while since I did one so it was great to gage how my legs can cope with the transition and it went....
