Week 4 - Love The Turbo

Image
21/01/13 - Rest Day 22/01/13 - Turbo Intervals Starting to appreciate the bike again, the turbo trainer seems to giving my legs some more depth and I've definitely noticed some muscle change. I'm really enjoying it too so its definitely helping! Simple interval session, which I will be completing over February so I thought I'd give it a try tonight and see what my progress is made by the end of the month. 15 minutes warm up 15 minutes (1min @ 100 Cadence, 1 min @ 80 Recovery Cadence) 15 minutes warm down I may look to make the interval session to 30 minutes the better my bike fitness gets. Great to see the peaks, I am only on level 1 on the resistance on the turbo trainer but its a start in the right direction. I managed to get the 100 RPM cadence on most intervals and keep it there (or around 97 - 105) On another plus side I was dripping in sweat so I know I must of worked hard... Week 10 - Practise 70.3 Training Week... Sort Of?

05/03/12 - Rest Day 06/03/12 - Cycling (Spin Bike) So this is what Ironman training feels like, well I cant say I'm surprised but it is definitely a new pain barrier that I haven't met before. This first session was to spend 2 hours in the saddle, and its been a while since last season and that was the last time I spend that time in the saddle. The session was a T3 ride with 5 x 10 intervals on T5 peddling. I found it really hard getting into T5 for the 10 minute bursts, I think the highest I managed to get was T4.1, so when I come to do this session next time I know I have to work harder. My legs weren't hurting to much after the session, which can only be a good thing, but come the end of the week we'll see how I feel. I also need to concentrate on my recovery strategy, which includes refuelling, stretching and resting after the sessions. Turbo Cadence Up

My Cadence is up and running an I'm really enjoying introducing turbo training into my monthly training plans.     I worked hard for the full 50 minutes, and I kept at a steady pace and work rate for 30 minutes, and then I switched to 3 interval sprint sets before the finish.
